Celebrating More Than a Decade of Smiles at Tollgate Orthodontics

A lot has changed at Tollgate Orthodontics over the years, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to providing exceptional orthodontic care and creating an experience that makes patients feel confident they chose the right practice.

What began as a single orthodontic office in Warwick has grown into a trusted Rhode Island practice serving children, teenagers, and adults from communities throughout the state. As we look back on how far we have come, we are especially grateful to the patients and families who made that growth possible.

The Tollgate Orthodontics Story

Before joining Tollgate Orthodontics, Dr. Daniel Eves was living in Italy and practicing orthodontics with the United States Navy.

Dr. Eves and his wife, Erin, met while attending graduate business school at Providence College. Because Erin was originally from Rhode Island, they knew they wanted to return to the area, raise their family here, and become part of the local community.

Tollgate Orthodontics proved to be the perfect fit.

Since then, the practice has grown in ways that go far beyond the number of patients we treat. We have expanded our team, added a second location in Jamestown, introduced advanced orthodontic technology, and continued developing treatment options that meet the changing needs of our patients.

Growing While Staying Personal

In 2012, Tollgate Orthodontics operated from one Warwick location with a team of four employees.

Today, our expanded team provides orthodontic care in both Warwick and Jamestown. Although the practice has grown, we have worked hard to preserve the personal attention and welcoming atmosphere that patients have always valued.

We want every patient to feel known, heard, and comfortable asking questions. Orthodontic treatment can take place over several months or years, so the relationship between a patient and the orthodontic team matters.

Our goal is not simply to straighten teeth. We want patients and parents to understand the treatment process, feel confident in the care they receive, and enjoy their experience with us.

Orthodontic Technology Has Come a Long Way

Orthodontic treatment has changed considerably over the past decade.

Traditional dental impressions once required patients to bite into trays filled with impression material. Today, digital intraoral scanners allow our team to create accurate three-dimensional images of a patient’s teeth without the discomfort and mess of traditional impressions.

These digital scans can be used to help plan treatment and create orthodontic appliances, clear aligners, and retainers.

Three-dimensional printing has also transformed how orthodontic models and appliances are produced. This technology gives orthodontists greater control over treatment planning while making the process more efficient and comfortable for patients.

Tollgate Orthodontics has invested in these tools because we believe modern technology should make orthodontic care more precise, convenient, and patient-friendly.

More Choices Than Ever Before

Orthodontic treatment is no longer “braces all the time.”

Traditional braces remain an excellent and reliable treatment option, but many patients may also be candidates for clear aligner treatment. Aligners provide a removable and discreet way to correct many common orthodontic concerns.

Tollgate Orthodontics offers several aligner options, including aligners planned and fabricated through our practice. This allows us to provide personalized treatment while offering alternatives that may be more affordable than some nationally advertised aligner brands.

The best treatment is not necessarily the most expensive or most heavily advertised option. It is the one that properly addresses the patient’s orthodontic needs, lifestyle, goals, and budget.

Dr. Eves evaluates each patient individually and recommends the treatment approach most likely to produce a healthy, stable, and attractive result.

Orthodontics Is Not Just for Teenagers

One of the most significant changes we have seen is the growing number of adults choosing orthodontic treatment.

Some adults never had the opportunity to receive treatment when they were younger. Others had braces in the past but experienced shifting because their retainers were lost or they no longer wore them. Many simply decide that now is the right time to invest in their smile.

Whether a patient is 8, 18, or 68, orthodontic treatment can improve more than appearance. Properly aligned teeth can be easier to clean, and correcting certain bite problems may improve comfort and function.

There is no single “right age” to ask about orthodontic care.
