Advanced Braces in Rhode Island

At Tollgate Orthodontics, Dr. Eves and our staff believe everyone deserves a healthy, beautiful smile. That's why we're committed to helping our patients achieve the smile of their dreams through convenient, high-quality orthodontic treatment. As a leading orthodontist serving Rhode Island, we're proud to offer a wide range of treatments, and one of the most popular is Damon® braces.

What Are Damon® Braces?

Damon® braces work the same fundamental way as traditional braces: they use a series of brackets mounted to the front of the teeth and a long, springy metal archwire running through the brackets to move teeth. The difference is that Damon® braces use special "self-ligating" brackets: they don't require elastic ties to hold the archwire in place.

This self-ligating system allows the archwire to move freely along the bracket during treatment, which makes for more efficient tooth movement. Thanks to the technological advancements that go into Damon® braces, they offer a faster, more comfortable treatment than traditional braces.

Benefits of Damon® Braces

Damon® braces represent the next step in braces technology, using a variety of advancements in orthodontic technology to achieve a more effective and convenient treatment. Thanks to these innovations, Damon® braces offer a number of benefits compared to traditional braces:

  • Faster Treatment: Damon® braces have been clinically proven to move teeth faster than normal braces.
  • Fewer Office Visits: Damon® braces require fewer check-up visits than traditional braces.
  • Improved Comfort: Because brackets slide freely along the archwire, Damon® braces are a more comfortable form of orthodontic treatment.
  • Treatment at Any Age: Anyone is eligible for Damon® braces– whether you're a teenager getting braces for the first time or a busy adult professional.
  • Easier to Clean: The compact, sleek design of Damon® braces means they're easier to keep clean.
  • Damon braces vs Invisalign: The unique forces used by Damon® braces for moving teeth results in a wider smile, and often allows the teeth to better fit into the arch without extraction.

    Types of Damon® Braces

We know that every patient is different, which is why we're proud to offer two types of Damon® braces at our office. Each form comes with its own advantages and drawbacks, and our Warwick orthodontist will work with you to help you decide on the ideal treatment for your situation:

  • Damon® Q Braces: Damon® Q offers a stainless-steel bracket that incorporates all the advantages of the Damon® system for a convenient, reliable, and comfortable orthodontic treatment option. Damon® Q brackets use the Damon® system's iconic self-ligating technology, making for faster and more comfortable treatment. Additionally, the sleek, rounded design of the brackets mean that Damon® Q is less noticeable and more comfortable than other forms of braces. If you're looking for an upgrade on traditional metal braces but still need the reliability of braces, Damon® Q is an excellent option.

  • Damon® Clear
  • Damon® Clear: Damon® Clear incorporates all the technology and advancements of regular Damon® braces, with one key change: the brackets are made from a clear polycrystalline alumina (PCA) material that blends in with teeth, making for a more discreet and less noticeable option. Damon® Clear brackets resist staining from coffee, mustard, red wine, and other staining agents. Additionally, because they don't require elastics, there's no risk of discoloration during treatment. Damon® Clear offers a discreet treatment option that still carries all the benefits of Damon® braces.
